How is income verified?
By document. Applicants upload pay stubs, an offer letter, or recent bank statements, and Rentari.ai organizes them next to the rent and calculates the income-to-rent ratio. You review the actual proof and decide. Rentari.ai does not connect to bank logins.
Is this the same as a credit or background check?
No. Income verification is about whether the applicant can afford the rent. Identity, credit, and criminal history run through Rentari.ai's separate screening flow. You can use them together for a full picture, and each is FCRA-compliant with consent on file.
Can I set my own income threshold?
Yes. The 3x-rent rule is a common default, but you set the ratio that fits your market. Applicants above your line are flagged so qualified leads rise to the top of your pipeline.
