Landlords Leasing & Screening

Take a listing off the market or mark it rented

Close the correct unit listing and review any separate posts you created elsewhere.

Before you start

  • Open Marketing for the specific unit. Decide whether the listing is being paused or the rental has actually been filled, and review any outside sites you posted to manually.

Close the unit listing

  1. Open Properties, choose the property and open Marketing.
  2. Find the correct unit listing. In a building with several units, check the unit label before choosing an action.
  3. Choose Deactivate to take it off the market, or open More listing actions and choose Mark as rented when it has been rented.
  4. Read the confirmation and confirm the chosen action.
  5. Check the updated listing status. If an error is shown, resolve it before assuming the listing has closed.

Check posts outside Rentari

Rentari removes a closed listing from its active publication feeds, but an outside site may not reflect the change immediately. Update or remove posts you created manually on other sites separately. Mark as rented closes the listing to new applications; keep the lease and tenant records up to date as well.

Put the listing back on the market

Use Publish on the inactive listing when you are ready to advertise again. Review the saved listing details first and complete any verification or missing-information request shown during publication.

Check the result

  • Marketing shows the resulting listing state. Mark as rented takes down the Rentari listing and stops its applications; it does not create or sign the tenant's lease.

Troubleshooting & questions

Will stopping marketing remove my manually posted listing on another website?

Do not assume so. Open the other website and manage that posting there, then check its public page.

Does Mark as rented create the new tenant's lease?

No. It changes the listing state and stops applications. Create or review the lease profile and agreement through their separate workflows.

Why is the listing still visible when I reopen the page?

Read the status-change result and refresh Marketing for the correct unit. Check the public listing URL; if the update failed, address its error before assuming marketing stopped.
