Landlords Maintenance
Attach a maintenance request to the correct unit
Check the property, lease and unit before creating the request.
On this page
Before you start
- Know the property address and the specific unit or whole-property area involved. Check whether the issue belongs to a current lease and tenant.
Choose the repair location
- Open New request and select the full property address.
- If the request concerns an existing tenant, choose their Lease. The tenant on that lease is attached to the request.
- Review the Unit selection when shown. A lease-linked unit may be locked to keep the location consistent.
- For a property with several units, select the actual unit explicitly. Describe a shared-area issue by its exact location rather than relying on the Whole property label.
- Check the property, unit and optional tenant-notification choice again before selecting Create request.
If a unit is missing
Check that you selected the intended property and lease. The current request flow can attach an unspecified unit to the first unit on the property, so do not submit with an unclear location. Cancel before submission if the location is wrong.
Check the result
- The created request is attached to the selected rental context. The lease selection supplies its tenant and unit; a request without a current lease can be logged without a tenant.
Troubleshooting & questions
Why is the Unit selector disabled after I choose a lease?
The selected lease supplies the unit. Check that you chose the correct lease rather than trying to override its unit.
What should I choose for a shared hallway or whole-property issue?
Choose the correct property and use Whole property when no individual unit or lease is appropriate. Include the precise location in the description.
Why is there no tenant notification option?
The notification option appears when a tenant is attached through the selected lease. A request logged without a current lease has no attached tenant to notify.
