On this page
Before you start
- Choose the state and subject you want to research. The available records are not a complete list of every law or a guarantee of the latest legislative status.
Filter the available records
Action: Open Legislation Watch. Use the state, category and status selectors to narrow the listed records. Use Reset to remove the filters if nothing matches. The states and records shown reflect the available coverage. An empty result does not establish that no relevant legislation exists.
Read an individual bill
Action: Select a card by its bill number or title. Review the state, bill number, status and title, then read the available Last action and sidebar details. Effective and Last sync appear when those values are available. Distinguish a proposed bill from an enacted measure and review the dates instead of treating every card as a rule already in force.
Check the legislature source
Action: When the detail page provides Read full bill text on the state legislature site, open it to review the underlying bill and its recorded legislative activity. Use the original source to verify the current status, text and effective date relevant to your question. A Rentari summary or recorded sync date does not guarantee that the source has not changed.
Check the result
- The bill detail shows the available record and a legislature link when provided.
