Find an expense that is missing from the list

Check dates, property and search filters before creating another entry.

Before you start

  • Have the recorded date, amount and description, plus the property or Whole portfolio assignment.
  • Check whether the expense was entered manually or came from a bank feed.

Broaden the list

  1. Open Expenses and widen Date range to include the date on the expense.
  2. Clear the description search and select Properties to remove a single-property filter.
  3. Clear the Uncategorized filter if it is selected, then look for the expense by amount and description.
  4. If the item came from a connected account, check Import feed and its Status filter to see whether the transaction still needs booking.
  5. Open the matching record or receipt before deciding that the expense needs to be entered again.

Check its scope

A record filed under another rental or Whole portfolio may not appear in a single-property view. Review the saved property assignment as well as the filters.

Check the result

  • The original row can be located by its filters and record details, or an unbooked feed item can be identified for review.
  • The search does not create or duplicate an expense.

Troubleshooting & questions

Why does it appear under All properties but not my rental?

Review the saved property assignment. It may belong to another rental or Whole portfolio. Change only an incorrect assignment after inspecting the original record; do not create another expense for the filtered view.

The bank shows the payment, but Expenses does not. Where should I look?

Check Import feed and its account, date and Status filters. A transaction still awaiting booking is not the same as a saved expense. Also check whether it was classified as a transfer or another transaction type.
